Both Sides File for Summary Judgment in Jackson

On the same day, both parties to the Jackson case file motions with the court asking Judge Kay to rule in their favor without proceeding to a full trial.  Loretta Fuddy’s motion asks the court to uphold Hawaii’s marriage laws, while the plaintiffs ask Judge Kay to rule that the state’s refusal to allow gay and lesbian couples to marry is an unconstitutional breach of their rights.
