District Court Judge Cancels Oral Arguments in Sevcik

In an unexpected move, Judge Robert Jones cancels the oral arguments in the Sevcik case that he had previously scheduled for November 26.  In his order, Judge Jones writes that “[t]he court will issue a written order on the pleadings.”  Responding to a follow-up letter written the next day by the plaintiffs asking whether the order cancels only the oral argument pertaining to the defendants’ motion to dismiss and not to the opposing motions for summary judgment, Judge Jones issues a clarifying order making it clear that all oral argument for November 26 has been vacated.
