Happy New Year’s, P8TT!
December 31, 2011

There have been plenty of “year in review” pieces posted already so I won’t go back into it. The only numbers I’ll mention are 4 million (actually, closer to 5 now) and 150,000, which are approximately the number of pageviews and comments here at Prop8TrialTracker.com. And, for the 2nd year in a row, we’re the #1 result on Google for the Prop 8 trial. Thanks to everyone for making it so!
As for New Year’s, I’m just hanging out with some friends here in town — wherever there’s champagne.
What are your best memories of 2011, and your plans for the holiday?

Why is Ninth Circuit taking so long to issue decision? Thought they were on a fast track.

I don't know! But the courts aren't open on the weekends or holidays, and because January 1 falls on a Sunday, this means Monday is also a federal holiday. Tuesday will be the soonest we'll hear. Hopefully we'll start the first week of 2012 with some good news!

They were also closed around Christmastime as well. Last year they announced their ruling on January 4, and the hearing was held on December 6, just for a point of reference.

Best memories? My sister sending me a text the day after NY passed same-sex marriage, telling my lady and I to start planning our wedding. The wedding itself.
But, as one of the commenters on the previous thread said (and I agree) we don't have victory yet. That marriage, legal though it may be in NY, isn't legal where we live. So as sweet as the memory is, there's one coming that will be sweeter.
Happy New Year, everyone.

Also disappointed we haven't heard from the Ninthyet, hoping it's because they're carefully crafting their ruling so it will be hard to overturn. Any day now!! Can't wait, and looking forward to sharing all the good and not-so-good news ahead with the P8TT community.

Best thing this past year? NY marriage equality, and getting to be a part of it. Best thing to look forward to? Don't know, surprises come in very odd packages, so I am looking forward to all of it. Happy New Year everyone!

Happy New Year to all
Best moment in 2011 was New York getting marriage equality. There was so much else happening as well so i have to cite all the little incremental moves forward. I think 2012 is going to be pivotal year..
Hey P8tt folks, I have a request. I am busy writing my second novel and its set in the time from March to November 2008. One of my characters is a marriage equallity volunteer worker in SF but she is originally from Fresno.. I was giving money to the cause but I was not active in volunteer work so i don't have direct experience with any meetings or protests or any behind the scenes stuff. I would like to hear from both San franciscans and Fresnoans (what are you all called) Most of the novel is set in SF but a key scene will be at marriage equality rally in Fresno in late summer or early fall.
If anyone wants to talk to me about their experiences, please get in touch with me at [email protected]
