Minnesota senate committee advances marriage equality bill UPDATE: bill passes House committee 10-7

Marriage equality

By Jacob Combs

This afternoon, the Minnesota Senate Judiciary Committee voted 5-3 to advance a marriage equality bill to the full Senate.  It is unclear what the fate of the bill will be on the full Senate floor.

The bill was also being considered today by the House Civil Law Committee, which will continue its consideration of the legislation tonight at 6 p.m. local time.  The marriage equality bill is expected to be approved by that committee.

We’ll have more updates tonight on EqualityOnTrial.com pending the House committee vote!

UPDATE 9PM ET (Scottie Thomaston): The bill has passed the House Civil Law Committee 10-7! The bill moves on to the floors of the House and Senate.
